Win32 GUI woes —Jeremy H. Sproat
Hey all, I'm wondering if anyone knows any cure for the following teeth-gnashing features that Win NT 4.0 has: 1 - You open a new window, launch an app, etc. and it takes up an ungodly amount of real estate on the screen. Like 80% of the pixels (...) (25 years ago, 14-Jun-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

(...) No, but I know that it can be cured :) My NT4sp4 runs at 1200x1000 ONO both at work and home, and NT Explorer pops up as a tiny wee box, exactly as specified. Perhaps try running one only copy, make it the right size, close it. Open another (...) (25 years ago, 15-Jun-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

(...) I've always done it through Control Panel->Multimedia->Devices Tab Click "Add" and away you go. For SB16 you should have no problems assuming the card can get the IRQ it wants etc. -Mike (25 years ago, 15-Jun-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Sometimes when I read the meaning just gets mixed up before I can fully (...) (25 years ago, 15-Jun-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Michael Ulring wrote in message ... (...) Gah. That's too obvious. Thanks for the reminder :) Hmm, maybe I should have rebooted after removing the SB16 drivers. I just blue screened (again) when I tried to install the SB-PCI driver. Oh well, they do (...) (25 years ago, 17-Jun-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: Win32 GUI woes —Jeremy H. Sproat
(...) I've found in the Win NT FAQ (1) that pressing the CTRL key while closing the window will save that window's settings. I wonder if this feature also exists in Win95/98...?    (...) Doesn't seem to hurt. Doesn't seem to matter, though, simply clicking the X by itself does the same thing on my machine. (25 years ago, 17-Jun-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)
