It's good. I still need to read 2001 some time, though, to compare.
Oh, and I think the space-elevator one (first edition hardback,
whoopee!) is as good as Rama.

_Heorot_ was a great book. Up there with the Mote, I'd say.
Niven solo, I'm goig to have to go with Known Space, if that's
allowed, or _Ringworld_ if it isn't.

I'm sure there was another Asimov that was better.. but I can't think

The whole first trilogy, IMHO. The rest is chaff. Enjoyable chaff
(most of which I own), but chaff nonetheless.
