Those are all the same show..sort of.
In the 70's the show was released in Japan as 'Ninja Team Gatchaman'. Shortly
thereafter, it was brought to the united states and released here. However, it
was deemed too violent for a US cartoon, so it went under the hatchet, in some
cases cutting as much as half the episode. They added a Robot named 7-zark-7
to do an intro and fill space, rewrote the episodes, renamed the team to
"G-Force" and released it here as 'Battle of the Planets'
To confuse things more, Cartoon Network (i think) reran the series a few years
ago. However, they edited it further, changed the characters names (again) and
released it as 'G-Force' This version is pretty horrible, and didn't do too
well.
So you have 3 shows based on the same animations...
As for the ships, four of the five team members had their own vehicles, which
docked with the Phoenix. The fifth one flew the phoenix. A jet plane in the
back, a race car in the front, a motorcycle on one wing pod, and a weird sort
of tank on the other. A MOC with all of these would be really cool, but would
have to be pretty big.
Hope this helps :)
