Item #13 in the slrn FAQ in v0.9.6.2 specifies how to do this.  I just need to
define a s-lan macro called "make_from_string_hook" that returns the "From:"
header as a string.

Arg. My nntp "From:" header usually looks like this: From: "Sproaticus" <jsproat@io.com> ...but for some reason, slrn seems to want to do this: From: Sproaticus@yo-yo.pro...novell.com (Sproaticus) ...and won't let me change it. This header is (...) (24 years ago, 29-Jun-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek, lugnet.admin.nntp)
