(...) if you're scripting, why not just write a script that would edit your files for you? that way, you run one command, and it'll update the 14 (or 2 :) files that need updates... (...) Well, yeah. Someone _desperately_ needs to come up with a scaleable solution that doesn't involve fourteen different file mungings to change a single entry. (...) Geek value. :) Actually, there can be some real uses, too. Sure, if it's just four or five machines, it's easy to keep up a hosts file on each of them. One of the things I wanted my home network to be able to do, though, was handle the "LAN (...) (24 years ago, 16-Mar-01, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)
