  LEGO(r) Vending Machine

Hi to various groups. While I was in Brisbane, visiting Mark Harrison and friends, I heard rumors that the Brisbane airport had a Lego(r)vending machine. I can't recall if one has been reported before or not. If so, sorry, but if not, here is some (...)   Re: The Law of Falling Lego

Here's a more accurate calculation (deals with different surfaces): L = (H(R/50)+B)/S Set H to the height of the table, B to the number of studs of the brick, R to the radius you get with (H*6) and finally, S to the "bounciness" of the surface. A (...) (24 years ago, 10-Sep-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Re: New LUGNET Feature: Crossword Puzzles

This looks *great*, and I love crossword puzzles, but... (...) on my browser, but I sure can't find it... <frown>... should I pass this on to the geeks?... ;-) I guess I'll use the printable version for now. Great stuff! -Shiri (24 years ago, 9-Sep-00, to lugnet.fun, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: SSH/SCP GUI Client?

(...) There are two good 'doze programs I've found to handle this. Take a look at PuTTY (which does do scp also) and TeraTerm with the SSH plugin. Hope this helps. (24 years ago, 8-Sep-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Programming Brain Teaser

(...) Yeah, I thought of that one, but I'm not sure it counts as a statement. In perl, of course, it's a comment. And in C/C++, it's a preprocessor directive.... (...) Well, #define thisisnotapalindrome enifed# :) (24 years ago, 8-Sep-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Programming Brain Teaser

(...) Good one, works in perl, C, and C++ You win in my opinion. (...) What a nasty addition to the problem. Gonna have to think about it... DaveG (24 years ago, 8-Sep-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

(...) ;("abcdefghijklmnopq...yz")ftnirp (...) 'Course, if ';' doesn't count as a statement, it makes it much more difficult, since most commands end with a ';', and therefore have to start with one as well if they're to be read in backwards-- making (...)   Re: Programming Brain Teaser

(...) Not even legal Perl and he did say Perl. Only works in C++ or in a C with C++ extentions. Kick him twice as much. And (MattM) you may be right that the ; alone is to taking a liberty with the term statement. DaveG (24 years ago, 8-Sep-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

(...) Replace /index.html with /index.cgi and make sure that you've got: AddHandler cgi-script .cgi somewhere in your .conf files and index.cgi in your DirectoryIndex record. --Todd (24 years ago, 7-Sep-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

Is it perl or C? (was: Re: Programming Brain Teaser)

Here's one that's MUCH better-- 'course most of you may have seen this already... someone made code equivalent to UNIX's wc command that can be compiled and run the exact same in perl and C... this one was really clever: (Grrr, it's gonna put (...)   Re: Programming Language Choice

(...) It depends what you're doing this for and what you're doing with it. If you're happy with VBA and wish to expand in that direction, Visual Basic is probably a fine choice. (I haven't used it since 1.0, so I can't really say too much about it.) (...) (24 years ago, 7-Sep-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

  Re: Programming Brain Teaser

(...) Well the obvious answer is ";", but that's a bit too simple. I can't think of anything else that doesn't involve several variable and/or function definitions elsewhere. (24 years ago, 7-Sep-00, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)
