This must be an exclusive of the germanic languages... :-P In 4 Latin languages this fish is referred to as: Atum (Portuguese) Thon (French) Atún (Spanish) Tonno (Italian) So, my guess is the "Barbarian Invaders" used the Latin name of the (...)
