(...) Hmmm. Yeah, "The Thing" is one of my favourites, ever since I first saw it (in about '84). And the DVD is good value, too - has some really good commentary about how they did some of the effects. Pretty fun stuff! ROSCO (24 years ago, 14-Mar-01, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

(...) Haven't seen it, but I've heard lots of good things about it. Starman, The Thing, and Big Trouble... are all pretty good (there's that phrase again!), but Village o' the Darned and In the Mouth of I-wish-I-were-HP-Lovecraft were terrible! (...) (...) Heh! In my original post, it was Joe Carpenter, I couldn't help changing it to John. I didn't know if anyone would catch it...
