Well. Enough of this off-topic rambling.

Hey, that's what this groups for.  :-)

Yeah, well, technically :)

I remember my dad jumping on the computer bandwagon back in the late
70's.  He spent several thousand on a TRS-80.  With a cassette tape
for a drive!  He had big dreams about it's capabilities.  I was taking
a computer class in high school, and he thought I could program a
business program for him.  Needless to say, that was a joke. :-)

*winces*

Well, my current system config includes:a Iiyama Visiomaster Pro 17, a
Keytronic KB101 PLUS Professional series keyboard I bought second-hand
for $10 about 4 or 5 years ago, washed it, and won't be giving up
anytime soon - I need to give it a wash again sometime tho :),
a few random speakers since my stereo moved, a 24x Acer CDROM, a 3.5"
drive, which is literally the _only_ thing left from the original
comp, a Modified big tower case with both AT and ATX powersupplys, a
random AGP/100 socket7 motherboard with sound onboard, a Intel
166/MMX, 64 megs of RAM, by N-cube, with 9.5 years more warranty left,
a Matrox G200 OEM, a random PCI 10 Mb ethernet card, errrmmm.... well,
I guess that's about it. I keep getting more stuff integrated :)

I suppose I could use a K6/300 or 350... but well, money's run out :)

And besides, I run Free Agent, Netscape Internet Explorer, and zMUD.
that's just about it. :) Who needs processing power :)

(...) Cool. Why both power supplies? You running a dozen HD's in there or something? Sounds interesting. (...) Mrmmm? N-cube? You mean the ram has a 10 year warranty or does N-cube make something else? A buddy showed me a website once of a company (...) (26 years ago, 13-Dec-98, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

(...) Sucks, doesn't it? I would LOVE to have a new bleeding edge computer, but I hate that feeling of buyers remorse when the price drops soon thereafter. (...) Hey, that's what this groups for. :-) I remember my dad jumping on the computer (...) (26 years ago, 13-Dec-98, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)
