You know, down here in the States, technology has advanced to the point where we
don't have to hand-crank our television sets to make them run. We can just plug
them into electrical sockets in the wall. Or some people even use batteries,
for their portable sets. ;P
Actually, I did know a UPS driver who had a radio that needed to be hand-wound
to operate. Seems UPS trucks have neither radios nor cigarette lighters, and he
got sick of paying for batteries (I would have just stocked up on NiMHs).
