And this is the problem with licensing movies, books, etc. If the main

Why? How do we know that Han Solo is white and Lando Calrissian is
black?
Just because that's the skin colors of Harrison Ford and Billy Dee Williams?

Umm, yeah.  That would be it.  And the minifigs are meant to represent the
characters, the same way the actors did.

Now, if someone re-makes "Star Wars" in 30 years, and they happen to make the
controversial move of casting a black man as Han and a white man as Lando, and
TLC makes sets representing that remake, I would similarly expect that the Han
minifig would be represented as a black man somehow, and Lando be yellow.

Even more interesting than simply the Star Wars question is this:  If Lego is
going to continue to license properties to make sets from- Harry Potter, etc-
then they are either going to have to deal with this question at some point, or
avoid taking on licenses that have any major dark-skinned characters.

And what about Harry Potter?  It hasn't even been cast yet!  There are
certainly characters in it that could be cast as either a black or white actor
(or asian, or any other race).  What if the director does something like this?
Then what will Lego do?
