I don't see how a trigger lock is an attempt to get rid of guns. A trigger lock
is SUPPOSED to help prevent an accidental discharge from a gun, over and above
what the safety switch is for. Do you think there was this much debate when the
standard safety was added?
As far as education is concerned, I agree whole-heartedly with it. I don't know
of anyone who has been seriously injured as a result of an education. (lack of
one maybe, but that's another topic) I'm not sure that I'm for the NRA being
the educating body though. I have found the NRA's stance on too many subjects
conflicts with my own. I do like the story about the State Troopers
demonstration though. They are qualified individuals in a position of authority
who are respected by most kids of that age. It's one thing to know how to fire
a weapon. It's another to see the destruction that that weapon can cause.

For debates sake, those controls are already there. You have libel cases and
cases where yelling "fire!" are both restricted.
