Nope. Even when I was that young, if they would have hit me with a ruler, I probably
would have yanked it out of their hand and beat them back. Up until senior year in
HS, I was always a bit large for my age ;-)
And my parents, while probably grounding me, probably would have semi-supported me
fighting back over such an idiotic teaching method. Luckily I never got anywhere near
any religious schools, where that (at least used to be) was more prevalent.
