I just realized that you're making a correct and finer distinction than I did.
I didn't mean to suggest that these disorder are mere behavior problems in need
of more discipline.
On the other hand, sympton-lists are problematic because it's hard to
distinguish between organic and functional conditions, and it may not be
appropriate (ie, fruitful or beneficial) to treat purely psychological disorder
with the same chemicals used to treat neurological conditions, especially if
such chemicals present a quick-fix for psychological problems that may have
deeper and unseen roots.
