Hmm.  The technic shuttle was advertised at 59 GBP off, from the original
price of 99 GBP.  The current price was *obviously* wrong at 4 GBP.  So joe
public can't do math?

I'd like to see this topic pursued a little further.  This reference added to
my belief that the offer was too good to be true, and contributed to my
decision not to place an order.  I think that James' "obviously wrong"
assertion might be disputed by some, but I came to the same conclusion that he
did.

I would like to know, from the people who placed orders, how many saw this
particular reference and what they thought of it at the time.  Did the
overwhelming number of low prices vs. a single "pounds off" quote make them
suspect that the 59 GBP was actually in error?

It wasn't a single instance.  Each of the entries on the main page had all
three data points (i.e. 'pounds off' 'current price' and 'regular price')

In some of the instances, all three lined up, in the rest (the majority) the
current price was off by a factor of ten, in every case.

Maybe my cynicism is showing, but I sensed a sub-theme of "stock up before
they catch the error" in some posts.

Yeah, I'd noticed that too, but decided to be polite about it.  The whole
thread was started with (and I quote) "If you are quick The Entertainer have
missed out a zero"

Which sure implies a mistake on The Entertainer's part.
