Hmm, in my experience, extreme examples are great for exploring assertions,
and helping cut to the essense. I always use extreme examples to test
assertions. If my assertion holds up under extreme examples, then it's
pretty good. If it doesn't, I can explore why it doesn't. Depending on the
failure, and my goals, I may qualify my assertion, modify my assertion, or
give up (sometimes things just aren't worth trying to assert).
