What you are oblivious to is the fact that much of the resistence is coming
from outside of Iraq,
|
From the New York Times: Brig. Gen. Mark Kimmitt, a spokesman for the occupation
forces, estimated that there were a total of 3,000 to 5,000 guerrilla fighters
in Iraq, with 5 to 10 percent of those coming from outside the country.
Since when did 5 to 10% = much?
|
not from an overwhelming majority of the Iraqis
themselves.
|
I came accoss this the
other day:
- an overwhelming majority of Iraqis, 71 percent (and that figure rises to 81 percent if the Kurdish areas in the north are excluded), now see the US-led coalition as an occupying force and not as liberators.
- a solid majority, almost 60 percent, want the US and its allies to leave immediately, even if it means the security situation will deteriorate.
But who cares what they think or the causes of thier concern?

We are talking about a few 1,000 insurgents in a country of
millions.
