This is something that got me away from "organized" religion--the most virtuous
person I have ever met (imho) is my uncle George--he's up at 5 a.m. flooding the
skating rink in the local park for the kids, with no thought of restitution,
he's peeling peaches for community events, plows the snow out of peoples
driveways in the winter, builds birdhouses and gives 'em away to help bring back
the bluebird population, he does so many things, but he doesn't do this for the
'lookit me!' or even the false, 'don't lookit me, but really, yes, lookit me'...
Anyway, I won't continue the laud the greatness that is my uncle...
But you get on the topic of religion--oh my goodness....
You guys have nothing on him. If there is a capital A Athiest, it's my uncle.
And I respect him even more for that--not that he wants, or needs, or even goes
looking for other people's respect.
So yeah, I've thought about, "Hey, what if at the last second Hitler repented
his dastardly ways..." So I'd be in heaven with Adolf(2), and not my uncle?
Well, I state emphatically that I don't go for that. John Hagee (1), and other
'members of the cloth', can go hang themselves with that idea.

How about the flawed interpretation of man regarding the essence of God isn't
worthy of adulation?

1- there are many padres that I've listened to thru the years, and this guy has
got to be the biggest blowhard there is. Grab a book Hagee called "Rich
Christians in an age of Hunger" and go learn yourself some better doctorine.
2- Ooops, I played the AH card--this discussion is now at a close per all
nettiquette rules :)
