An excellent summation, Dave! It’s pretty much where I stand as well.

I’ll live my life as virtuously as I know how, but I won’t rub blue mud in my belly button and then delude myself that doing so somehow makes me better than those that won’t do so.

Why give us minds and then insist that we not use them? Why reward the sinner who murdered thousands but who then sincerely repents his crimes more than the virtuous one who never harmed anyone, helped many with his works and inventions but won’t believe?

The christian god (read the book of Job, I just did, again) is not worthy of my adulation.
