Come on, Tom. I have a lot of faults, but I wouldnt say pride is one of
them.

In person, no. But the bigotry you continuously spout in here shows Pride in
|
yourself and your chosen religion.
|
|
If that is your perception, then I guess it is so, but I have to say that it is
very easy to be misunderstood in a forum such as this.

In practice I am a pretty tolerant person,
|
In person, you are. But some of the things you say in here border on
insanity sometimes.
|
Hmmm. Really insane, or just not inline with what you believe? :-)
|
|
and in theory it shouldnt
matter what I believe.
|
In THEORY, maybe not. But if you ever have any position of power and start
pushing your agenda, what you believe will be highly relevant.
|
That is what is known as a religious test and is completely
unconstitutional.
|
Contrary to your protestations from
time to time in here, I really dont think you could keep from pushing your
insanity on others - insanity just tends to do that, whether it realizes it or
not.
|
This attitude is the one that seems bigotted to me. You characterize my beliefs
as insane, presumabley because they differ from yours.

As far as Christianity breeding violence and death, I dont see it. People
arent perfect, and to expect Christians to act perfectly is a little over
the top. And the Christians who persist to act in evil ways are rebuked by
other Christians.
|
Up until WW2, Id say Xtians were pretty much top dog in violence and death
throughout their short history. Since you seem to be willing to bury your
head about most of the Bible, I am not surprised that you can bury your head
about Xtian history outside of the Bible.
|
Are you asserting that events described in the OT actually occured? I dont
think you can argue both ways.
And BTW, the Crusades ended about 500 years ago-- time to let it go already. I
dont deny the ugly parts of Christianitys history; neither does Christianity
itself. Christianity acknowledges its own faults and changes to correct them.
The glaring denial comes from people like you and RM who refuse to acknowledge
the incredible amount of GOOD done throughout history in the name of Jesus
Christ.
