Ownership is one thing; ownership without responsibility is a different

I agree with that. Now I am not an NRA member but one of their biggest
causes (for lack of a better word) is insisting on responsible owenership.
They also support mandatory minimum prison sentances for persons who commit
crimes with guns. Imagin that, punish the people who commit the crime, not
the objects they use. (And dont even get me started on how a pair of
scissors is far more deadly in close quaters.)

Insisting is not a word that I think the NRA would use or want you to use.
Insisting would means that they back mandatory gun safety courses as a
precursor to gun ownership, something I dont believe they back (they want no
impediments to actually buying a gun).
And no, scissors arent more deadly (note the word more - a pencil can be
deadly, though I imagine it would take a bit of work to make Lego deadly).

And scissors, pencils, and LEGO all have a primary function which has nothing to
do with the ending or maiming of a life.
What is a guns *primary* function?
As soon as you start realizing you cant sit there and say, Well, such-n-such
can also be used to kill...--its the arguement of a 5 year old--Well, Timmy
does this, so so can I!
A guns only inherent purpose is to shoot bullets at something. That is all it
can do. And if you take away the guns, you take away the shooting at something.
Therefore, logically (as discussed earlier), there will be less gun related
maimings and death.
Its irrefutable--less guns, less gun related injuries and deaths.

By extension, the purpose of a pair of scissors is to cut things, therefore I can cut someone's throat with them, so scissors should be banned. A baseball (...)
