A very interesting link - thank you, Richard. I shall use it for future
reference.
After some really superficial reading, I can now at least pretend to know why
the term common law is so... uncommon to me: according to one of the earlier
links, it is mostly used in a context of adversarial system, which is not the
one in use in my country (inquisitorial system, or Roman-Napoleonic being our
standard code of laws). If I were a lawyer, Id know that the Civil Code (read,
civil law) is whats used around here :-)
Oh well - live and learn!...
