Actually, the Republicans are to blame, and on two counts. Instead of putting
up Richard Riodan, who could have beat Grey, the right wingers decided he didn’t
pass the far right litmus test, and put up a total loser that even the
incompetent Grey could beat. Second, the deficit came about for the same reason
everyone else’s investments are going south: the economy in general and the
stock market in specific. Good ol’ Dubya, who hasn’t learned the simpliest
thing from Slick Willy: it’s the economy, stupid!
Of course, Grey sucks anyway (but then, I think it would be more appropriate
that he ran as a Republican, so I don’t know if I’m conceding much). :-)
