  That's very nearly a 100% apocryphal statistic.  Here's one addressing of the

others on the web and in print media that draw pretty much the same conclusion.
I'm not worried about my Canadian friends who misunderstand the US welfare
system (I know very little of Canadian public healthcare, for example), but I
caution my fellow Americans not to dismiss the issue because of faulty and
anecdotal evidence.
  The truth, (consistently overlooked by the liberal media) is that corporate
welfare *vastly* outstrips individual welfare programs.  On top of that, let's
consider the many millions of dollars in tax revenue lost when US companies base
their operations in a PO Box in Bermuda.
