As I sit embedded in my sofa, alert but not alarmed[1], I wonder in shock
and awe at the barrage of jargonised verbiage being fired by weapons of mass
instruction in the battle for my heart and mind.
Brooding in my evil lair, I seek a human shield to protect me from the
collateral damage inflicted by the smart bombs and friendly fire of
propaganda, as I pray for a swift end to this jihad on the English language.
-Keith, Cannons Creek
[1] This is a reference to a campaign by the Australian Govt in an attempt
to "protect our way of life from a possible terrorist threat". It included
ads in all media, and a booklet to each and every household, which
proclaimed "Be alert, but not alarmed".
