I would say that, yeah. Definitely. Atheism is a meme just as much as
theism is. Moreover, atheism is a direct byproduct of theism. If theism
had never evolved on this planet, then neither would have atheism. Theism
can exist without atheism, but not the reverse.
An ox or an ass, for example, even though they (probably) don't believe in
God, can't really be called atheist since they haven't (probably) the mental
capacity to accept the existence of something they can't see, and thus
haven't (probably) the capacity to deny the existence of something they
can't see.
I wonder where on the evolutionary scale lies the line between being able to
and not being able to accept or deny (or even to ponder) the existence of
something unseen.
