Me either. I suspect it has some relation to peoples' upbringing. As a
child, you're taught what's acceptable to say, and what's not. You quickly
learn what words will pass, and what words will result in getting a bar of
soap inserted in your mouth.
Personally, I'm not offended by much at all. I just see it as words, and
nothing more. After all, it's just information. Think of it like a foreign
language.
However, society does demand that certain language not be used in specific
situations. If you're at church, you're not going to swear. If you're on a
job interview, you're probably going to leave the rough language at home.
Therefore we have to draw that line as to what's acceptable and what's not,
and the position of this line varies depending on our surroundings as well
as our personal feelings.
Perhaps the people here that are offended by "crap" have their "line" drawn
pretty high.
