Brickshelf seems to have lots of bandwidth available to it but that's a
happy accident. My suggestion is that everyone who hosts avatars or eBay
images or other things that consume bandwidth and are, shall we say, "less
related" to LEGO than some other images, ought to seriously consider • giving
financial support to Brickshelf.

Do you seriously think young kids at 8-16 years willing to donate for
something that is free? I don't think so.

Bionicle is LEGO, and Brickshelf is a hosting site for LEGO Images, and its
not making any money what so ever. Somehow I see pics of Animals, that's not
LEGO???

Geez, these are young kids ...... and are the future AFOL or LEGO
Builders...

A technical argument against avatars could be made on bandwidth grounds. In fact, this is the argument bioniclezone.com itself gives against hosting avatars there directly. They can't afford the bandwidth that these avatars (which appear on every (...) (23 years ago, 6-Jan-02, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)
