I have flown since then. It was the same as before, yet vastly different,
both at the same time in a spooky sort of way. Same terminals, same security
guards at my end, but much more serious... and much less attitude from
everyone involved. (even, dare I say it, me)
But whether you have flown or not, in my view, has nothing to do with your
assertions. And those assertions are a masterful restatement of the point,
thank you. (it goes without saying that I agree, of course)
What I thought was MOST ironic about this bailout was Midway, a carrier who
was bankrupt, in receivership, and not even flying at *all* on 911, having
the audacity to say "this bailout means we can return to service"...
Excuse me?
Bankruptcy means you as a management team failed and your creditors get to
come in and reorganize your operations or dismember them, as they see fit,
which ever is more likely to get some of their funds back...
It does not mean you get a free pass to try again.
It does not mean you get a handout for something you weren't impacted by.
Pah.
