I see now - you don't live in the US, so you just can't quite appreciate the freedoms
we have (they're eroding, though, unfortunately. And if more people in the US think
like you, they'll erode much faster).

YOU. Him I may never run into. But if too many people think like you, the government
will end up trampling all over me. It's a lot harder to run/hide from the gubmint
than from an individual.

I think is shows how broken the system is:
#1 - the journal shouldn't have ever made it into evidence
#2 - the case should have never been brought against him
#3 - the judge should have never let the verdict stand
