Re: Something interesting in the mech world...

(...) Sort of too late... True, LOM isn't really a mecha theme, but Roboraiders was. Also true these aren't licensed themes. (...) If we take that reasoning to extreme, then we should hate LEGO for making any sets which build models at all. I've got (...)   Re: Something interesting in the mech world...

  Wanted: Clone-brand minifigure

Hi, I'd like to acquire at least one or two non-LEGO minifigures for a project I'm working on. I'm only interested in any figures that are also compatible with the LEGO; they need to be placed alongside standard LEGO elements and not seem completely (...)   Re: Something interesting in the mech world...

Personally I don't want Lego making anything mecha. I want a genre that is untouched by their "master builders". A place where I can still build what I want and NOT have it compared to Legoland or some store display. Also (and I know I'm in the (...) (...) Ever heard the phraze 'if you don't ask you don't get', It was only a suggestion anyway, it's not like I was expecting them to say 'ah what a great idea'. It's not such a bad idea, I bet the Star Wars licenced sets sold a lot more than the (...) (23 years ago, 2-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Something interesting in the mech world...

(...) I actually like K'nex; for a different building system, it ain't so bad. At least they were bold enough to recognize the market for build-your-own-mech toys.   Re: Something interesting in the mech world...

(...) What a load of rubbish the K'nex product is. It looks like trash. This must be their answear to the successful Star Wars line. Lego should retaliate with a Robotech/Macross line. I'd love a Lego Destroid Monster or a YF-19. The worst thing (...) (23 years ago, 1-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.lego.direct)

Something interesting in the mech world...

Hey Mechyfriends, So...I was in Toys "backwards-facing-R" Us the other day, and what do I see? K*Nex has secured the Mechwarrior license (Microsoft owns that line now, right?), and has produced (what I HATE to admit) a really good looking line. (I (...)
