Hey:

I got a curious about MegaBloks stand on bulk parts and wrote them the
following email:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To Whom It May Concern:
I am an adult collector of construction toys.  For over a year I have been a
very vocal online supporter of your Mega Bloks products (in newsgroups like
RTL and those administered by Lugnet).  I am thrilled that your quality
control is improving and that your very economical brick sets and buckets
appear to be flourishing -- they cleaned the shelves here locally at Christmas
time.  I am particularly impressed with the monster truck, military, NASCAR,
and Pro Builder sets.  I was also very pleased to discover the fluorescent
brick buckets and I intend to buy many of those.  Everyone involved in these
product lines deserves high praise.
Anyway, I was wondering if it was possible to order any single part (or tree
of parts, if need be) in quantity.  In particular I am interested in the hinge
parts that appears in the Planetoids sets (in this case I am looking at page 3
of the instruction manual for set #9322 "Repzyllian Fighter" -- the hinges I
am seeking in quantity are pictured in step 6, substep 2 -- where two of these
hinges are  pictured in black).  I would be interested in purchasing dozens of
these hinges if they were available in bulk.
Other parts of interest, and that I would also purchase in quantity would be
the two part black 4x4 round swivel brick (see page 2 of the same #9322
manual), the tilt base (pictured in red on page 3 of the same manual -- which
I would prefer in black instead and it IS available in black), the wing
element (pictured in green on page 3 of the same manual -- except that again I
would prefer it in black and it IS available in black), and the black radar
dish (as seen on page 6 of the same manual).
And if the parts cannot be made available in bulk, have you considered making
accessory packs in different colors?  Of course, I would favor the black
(neutral colors being more utilitarian) -- but grey, red, and purple might be
fun too.
Lastly, at one point I had understood that you acquired the construction toys
previously manufactured by Tyco.  If in fact Ritvik holds the rights to what
are termed the "gender changing" plate designs,  I can assert that there would
be enormous interest in parts packs of those plates without a doubt.
The "gender changing" plates being those that had either studs on both sides
or that could accept studs on both sides.
Thanks in advance for your kind attention to my inquiry,
Richard
BTW, I thought I might post some or all of the contents of this email to RTL
and Lugnet (Off-Topic.Clone-Brands) where there will be general interest on
the subject matter of parts in bulk -- and of course more particularly, your
reply.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now I eagerly await the response.

-- Richard

(...) **snip of letter** (...) Interesting--I likewise am interested to hear what they say. Sadly, while the people with whom I've spoken at Ritvik have themselves been very helpful, friendly, and professional, the company itself seems to have no (...)
