  Re: New MEGABLOKS items

(...) FYI Hobby Link Japan (www.hlj.com) has them for sale. I have a set ordered, but they haven't arrived yet. MB has an Ultraman license in Japan as well (I ordered a couple of those, too), and their Power Ranger sets are onto the next theme over (...)   New MEGABLOKS items

(URL) Here,> (URL) here,> (URL) and here.> Not my auctions, I don't know the seller, and I won't be bidding. Thoughts? I find the whole Thunderbirds vibe to be extremely creepy in some way, not unlike a ventriloquist's dummy. I note with interest (...)   Re: Clone sightings

Even weirder is that X-Blocks has Marvel's license for Spiderman, and the Spiderman X-Blocks hit the shelves at TRU just when Lego's did. Marvel has been entertaining deals like this with Lego or others for years -- I met two Marvel employees in the (...) (21 years ago, 18-Dec-03, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

  Clone sightings

I just spotted a new (to me) brand of clone brick at TRU called X-Blocks. I’ve never heard of it before, but this particular set is a licensing of the movie The Hulk, and it’s apparently called the Hulk Destructor Construction System. The set is (...)   Re: Ninja Turtles

(...) Hi Richard! There's been some mention of this product line here in OT-Clones, such as here: (URL) spotted the sets at TRU, and you're right that the heads *do* have quite a bit of character. I haven't bought any yet, but the figures seem to (...) (21 years ago, 17-Dec-03, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Ninja Turtles

(URL) did anyone know that Mega Bloks has the TMNT (Ninja Turtles) license. The Turtle heads can easily be placed upon a minifig body…and they look awfully detailed and full of character too! Kinda interesting, --==Richard==-- (21 years ago, 17-Dec-03, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Fwd from a builder: Colors don't match, among other things!

(...) Dave, I have built a few apparatus that used one or two clone elements here or there, but nothing turned out good enough to photograph for my site. Probably only 1 in 5 apparatus that I build ends up on my site. Even though I'm not a purist, (...) (21 years ago, 10-Dec-03, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Fwd from a builder: Colors don't match, among other things!

(...) Out of curiosity, have you built any fire equipment that includes clone elements? If so, could you post pictures? If not, your stuff is still pretty darned cool. Dave! (21 years ago, 10-Dec-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

BTR on sale at Target, and a review

Sorry for the sketchiness of the price details—I didn’t have a writing utensil, and I was in a hurry. BTR sets: the small sets are ~$6.00 (down from about $7.50) and the larger sets are similarly reduced. BTR doesn’t offer the best piece:price (...)   Deals at Value City

My local Value City has a number of MEGA BLOKS sets on sale below MSRP. Included among them are the various Warriors: Future Force mecha, a smattering of ProBuilder sets, several Gyro-Fighters, a few Dragons sets, and a couple of those shoot-n-score (...)   Re: Fwd from a builder: Colors don't match, among other things!

(...) I am not happy about the new colors and I'm sure my message will get lost in the fray, but I just have to reply. Jeff makes a point that if kids don't think LEGO is superior, they won't become adults that buy LEGO for their kids. Let's take (...) (...) cool set, if you're not averse to clone brands. For anyone who just can't get enough of my dazzling prose, here's the review I posted a few months ago: (URL) in all, a cool set.   WM semi-truck clone set 4 sale

If anyone wants one of the WM / Kids Connection Semi-trucks (clone set, believed to be made by Coko) please contact me. I have several that I picked up on clearance. I would list these for sale on BL, but clone items are prohibited there (and (...) (21 years ago, 20-Nov-03, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

(...) season. If it wasn't this same product, it was awfully close -- side-interlocking, translucently-colored building blocks. There were 2 or 3 "model" sets. I think they were: a building, a table lamp, and a phone. I don't recall them having any (...) (21 years ago, 20-Nov-03, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Well, if I understand the tide of sentiment here on LUGNET (as well as the corporate Newspeak dished out by TLG), you need to maintain a special perspective while exmining this issue: When LEGO demonstrates wide (and random) variations in (...)   Re: Lego now making Mega Bloks colors (was Re: Fwd from a builder: Colors don't match...)

(...) And to be fair, my experience with Mega Bloks consists of picking them out of yard-sale lots of LEGO, so I've really only dealt with MB pieces that are relatively old and worn. I must admit that more than one recent MB set design has caught my (...) (21 years ago, 19-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Lego now making Mega Bloks colors (was Re: Fwd from a builder: Colors don't match...)

I'm holding a chunk of dark gray blocks from a recent MB set and they all stick together very well, the colors of the various parts match and the bricks themselves line up nicely so that surfaces that are supposed to be smooth (...)
