Re: Off-topic.clones: I wish TLG would have made this part! —Tore Eriksson
(...) Is Oxford equal to Coko? /Tore (22 years ago, 21-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Off-topic.clones: I wish TLG would have made this part! —Dave Schuler
(...) That's the big question. The brands have enough overlap of distinctive elements to make me think that, at the very least, the brands have access to the same molds. Blok-Tek (aka Brik-o, I believe) also shows some of the same parts. In (...) (22 years ago, 21-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Off-topic.clones: I wish TLG would have made this part! —Dave Schuler
(...) Here you go: (URL) parts all appeared in the 15000 Tank set, along with a sort of cloverleaf turntable top, a 2x2 plate corner, and several 6x8 plates. The latter two are already modelled, but I'm still polishing off the turntable. There are (...) (22 years ago, 22-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Off-topic.clones: I wish TLG would have made this part! —Richard Marchetti
(...) great, as do the grooved bricks. Aren't those grooved bricks almost identical to something some trainheads customized from regular bricks? I assume the main utility of the plates Tore wanted are as some kind of rotating attachment points. Is (...) (22 years ago, 22-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

(...) No, if they were clear, they'd make fantastic headlights of 60's style cars. /Tore (22 years ago, 22-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Off-topic.clones: I wish TLG would have made this part! —Dave Schuler
(...) I should have shown the underside of the cover, since it has three studs like a 2x4 plate. The brick in the front left corner is a '2x2 slope 45 inverted' with four grooves and a "stepped" body style. This already appears in the clone library (...)    (...) Hafner has already modelled them -- you should contact him about using them in the clone elements DB. -- Hop-Frog (22 years ago, 22-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Off-topic.clones: I wish TLG would have made this part! —Dave Schuler
(...) I wonder--since these parts still have the official LEGO logo on the studs, would they even have a place in a clones DB? You've mentioned previously a possible library of dats based on user-modified elements; perhaps Tony's bricks would fit in (...)         Re: Off-topic.clones: I wish TLG would have made this part! —Larry Pieniazek
(...) I'm wondering why this leaked over into .trains... I would say that if there are only 2 bins, "official LEGO(r) parts", and "everything else" these parts belong in the "everything else" bin. But the better solution is a different bin (library) (...) (22 years ago, 22-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad)

Re: Off-topic.clones: I wish TLG would have made this part! —Dave Schuler
(...) Well obviously it's because I deleted the part that was relevant to trains before posting it. If you had bothered to read the part I didn't post, it would all be clear to you. My train-related question, since Tony's engrooved bricks first (...) (22 years ago, 22-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.trains)

Re: Off-topic.clones: I wish TLG would have made this part! —Larry Pieniazek
(...) Actually, I've been reading the whole thread, Dave! Trust me on that, Dave! The fact that the parts were first used in a train creation doesn't mean they are train specific parts to a strict compartmentalist like myself, Dave! (...) Again, (...)         Re: Off-topic.clones: I wish TLG would have made this part! —Dave Schuler
(...) Scandalous! Next thing, you'll be applying decals. It's like I don't even know you anymore. (...) I'd like to see those pics, if anyone takes them. To date, the best train-ish creation is about as dynamic as a block of 2x4 bricks. But it's (...) (22 years ago, 22-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Off-topic.clones: I wish TLG would have made this part! —John Neal
(...) If by the above you mean that *you* have created an 8 wide, then I'd say it *does* earn you points-- at least in my book:-) Hmmm, I may have to start liking you, Dave! ;-) -John (22 years ago, 22-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

(...) Well, like I said: (URL)Hmmm, I may have to start liking you, Dave! ;-) Hmm. Now I guess I'll actually have to try to come up with a real 8-wide... Dave! (22 years ago, 23-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Off-topic.clones: I wish TLG would have made this part! —John Neal
(...) Okay, now I get it (I hadn't seen that pic yet). Reminds me of some Europeans (foggy memory alert; help anyone?) who built a train of simply constructed bricks, sort of like what my son did here: (URL) it's a start:-) -John (22 years ago, 23-Oct-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.trains)
