Oh, my sadness was just because the ONLY kids they mentioned and showed
playing with Lego were 4-6. Kids that were 7-12 were off playing with other
stuff. And I remember those being my PRIME Lego years as a child, just
before my dark ages. Actually, not really at age 12, but 7-11 was probably
my prime Lego age, IIRC. It saddened me not because older kids weren't
playing, but that it's more as I feared-- the Juniorized sets attracted ONLY
younger kids. Lego's move to include the 3-5 age gap between Duplo and
System resulted in closing *that* gap, but in opening another gap around age
9-12, between System and Technic.
Of course I know 20 kids hardly represent the average populus, but it still
struck me as kinda sad :(
