Previous I have reported that famous mecha designer Shoji Kawamori used LEGO to
prototype his Macross transformation mechas:

Well he top himself again.  The new mecha anime Sousei no Aquarion (
http://www.aquarion.info/ ) features his new design - a highly complex
GettaRobo-ish 3 craft combiner that can combine into 3 different mecha modes -
and he designed it using LEGO.

May be I should just switch to colour blind mode when building LEGO mecha and
see what I can come up with.

(...) Maybe this is old news, but I was watching the DVD extras from volume V of Ghost in the Shell Stand-Alone Complex, where they were interviewing two of the mechanical designers. One of the designers, Shinobu Tsuneki, had on the table in front (...) (20 years ago, 25-Apr-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)
