Shoji Kawamori, the creator of famous variable mecha/fighters such as VF-1
Valkyrie and YF-19, recently demonstrated one of his new design prototype using
LEGO pieces:

Obviously the wing pieces were custom made with paper over plastic.  It also
looks like a few pieces were cut and some may came from other clone brand.
Nevertheless it is amazing to see LEGO played an important role in the design of
some of the most complicated mecha.

The prototype he shown is the SV-51 from Macross Zero:

Too cool, even if he did cheat a bit. Can't wait for the rest of Macross Zero (I have the fansubs), it's gonna be awesome. Thanks for bringing this to our attention! Take care, Soren (URL) (21 years ago, 16-Aug-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
