He/she for example ran off a few copies of the train shed that LD featured
in a recent catalog (calling it for some reason a train "yard") and
auctioned them off for quite a bit more than the base brick value.

Interestingly, the buyer on both completed "Train Yards" is Ahui Herrera
(jedi-agh). I can understand buying one, maybe, but two? And one of them for
$449! The pieces are described as "mostly new", which is interesting too...
on his current auctions, the "cul-de-sac" is described as "All of the Legos
are in very good "played with" condition (the baseplates are new)". Neat
idea on the cul-de-sac.

I'd be very interested to hear how the models hold up in shipping. I found
shipping assembled models (when I did the Armada Warships a couple years
ago) was pretty iffy.

Ahui, are you reading? Anything to add?

There is at least one other eBay seller apparently doing quite well selling custom and semicustom structures in a one-off or very small run mode, with no (...)
