Steve & All,

I have also had a similar experience. 3 sets 7161 Gungan sub. All were open
and in 2 cases the poly bags were ripped apart and pieces missing. No more
than 10% offered for any of them. I left quickly. The store manager told me
they had some kind of arrangement with LEGO for damaged returns. I do not
know if that is true or if they are saved for employees.

Well, working for Meijer for a number of years, I know they don't hold any
of that stuff for employees, unless the Toy department people could. Being
in the Service area, nope. I don't know of the damaged goods thing either,
because I have had a lot of variation in terms of discounts. I had a Gungan
Sub at Meijer on Carpenter Road in Ann Arbor, it was ripped open, it was at
50% off (25.00) and I got another 50% off, bringing it down to 12.50. I
think it depends on the manager. : /

That is why I try
to get to KB-Toys at least once a week. They have damaged sets on sale on a
rotating basis. I do not know if the same holds true at all store locations.
I have however gotten some really good deals.

Heh, the regular store, or the outlet?
