(...) I'm not suprised. Asking PayPal to protect a payment is like asking the Post Office to help when someone cashed the check you mailed them and didn't send the item. (...) But the Post Office does help people that get ripped off though the mail. They even have their own police force, the Postal Inspectors, to enforce mail fraud laws. On a side note, my boss was a victim of a different sort of Paypal scam. (...) (24 years ago, 21-Jul-00, to lugnet.market.theory)

(...) This is why I wouldn't use it until I had registered a credit card there.
