What do you guys think?

I'm not suprised.  Asking PayPal to protect a payment is like asking the Post
Office to help when someone cashed the check you mailed them and didn't send
the item.  It seems to be just another case of "I was stupid, now who can I
blame?"

But the Post Office does help people that get ripped off though the mail.
They even have their own police force, the Postal Inspectors, to enforce mail
fraud laws.

On a side note, my boss was a victim of a different sort of Paypal scam.
Someone stole his credit card information (probably from one of the many
hotels or eaterys he hits when he travels), set up an account with paypal,
charged the initial $500.00 max to fund the account and sent it off to someone
else.

He never used paypal, and had actually never heard of it.  Paypal's fraud team
is checking it out, but from what my boss told me about their reaction it did
not sound uncommon.

Will

(...) This is why I wouldn't use it until I had registered a credit card there. Once you have it going through the credit card company, you have protections. +------/|---...---+---...---+ | | | djlong@wildwizards.net \ | | / | \ | | ( ) (URL) \ ICQ# (...)
