  Re: Meta-Legends?

(...) Oh no! Think of the concequences (sp?)! I would sell my house to buy mega-sets like that! Where would I put my Lego when it rains? Where would my two cats and girlfriend live? /\/\ark "I would sell my house, realy!" de Kock (24 years ago, 25-Nov-02, to lugnet.market.theory, lugnet.lego.direct)

  Meta-Legends?

Hey everyone - I had a crazy idea over the weekend. I know this will NEVER happen, but I thought it was interesting enough to share and discuss. Most of us agree that the Legends releases are one of the best things that TLC has done recently - (...) (24 years ago, 25-Nov-02, to lugnet.market.theory, lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Ebay sniper? you make the call

(...) Kerry, That's a really well written analysis. Some problems with open ended bidding: - a day may not be enough - too long an extension results in auctions which do drag out (Serious Collector had this problem as I have mentioned before) I (...)   Re: Ebay sniper? you make the call

The problem with ebay is that it is trying to simulate a live auction (as opposed to a sealed bid auction) on a worldwide basis. Now a normal auction is held in one place and all the bidders (or their agents) are present throughout the auction. (...) (24 years ago, 24-Nov-02, to lugnet.market.theory)

Re: Ebay sniper? you make the call

(...) Hmm. I wonder how many people have set up sniping-servers? I can well imagine a computer sitting on a fat, high-speed pipe, programmed to fire off sniping bids at precise times. It wouldn't provide 100% accuracy with sniping (you'll never be (...) (24 years ago, 23-Nov-02, to lugnet.market.theory)

Re: Ebay sniper? you make the call

(...) One would think that eBay would like the bidding to go on if the bids were coming reasonably fast, but at the moment the emphasis is on getting the auctions to cycle through quickly. Who knows? Maybe they have done tests and determined that if (...) (24 years ago, 20-Nov-02, to lugnet.market.theory)

Re: Ebay sniper? you make the call

(...) Yahoo! auctions has the 5 minute extension as an option, if the seller wants it. If a bid comes in during the last 5 min, the auction is extended. I rallied for it as an option at BrickLink, but no-go. Julie >Frank (24 years ago, 20-Nov-02, to lugnet.market.theory)
