Which, if Valdosta was any indication, will be on a department level. That is,
one department might be at 40% off, while another is at 50% off. I think this
has something to do with how much 'overall' is left in that department and
possibly what kind of deal they have with K-Mart (by department). I seem to
recall that Valdosta was 60% off on toys while housewares was still at 40% off.
In the end they all caught up with one another on the last few days. The store
was literally wiped clean at that point. What began as several 100 aisles of
stuff ended up as 3 or 4.
BTW, the discounts started out last week at 10% storewide, *however* one of the
clerks warned me that everything not was in the system yet.

| (...) is, (...) this I'm told that this is also dependent, atleast initially, on the markup on items in the different departments. The example given was Jewelry, which would be given bigger initial discounts because it has a much higher markup the (...) (22 years ago, 26-Mar-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)
