As I recall several people in our area (New England) tried getting discounts on damaged sets after learning that the Lego Outlet struck off a whopping 50% for even simply dented sets. | (...) My impression is that managers are afraid of encouraging people to trash sets themselves in hopes of getting a discount. Dan and I found a Mindstorms set opened and missing the RCX - we asked the manager for a discount, he said no, and said that it "happens all the time" (sets being opened and things being pulled/stolen out of them) - this was in MD somewhere a (...)
