Today I did one of my 'grand tour's of shopping. Six WalMarts, six K-Marts, one
Target and one BestBuy (which was picked clean). Add to that three K-Marts, a
Target and a WalMart I checked the day before Christmas.
One thing that stood out was the virtual absence of certain sets from the recent
Christmas season...
4708 Hogwarts™ Express (none found at any of the above mentioned stores)
4709 Hogwarts™ Castle (none found at any of the above mentioned stores)
7317 Aero Tube Hangar (only one store, out of 19, had any of these left)
Anyone else noticing strong sell-thru on these sets ?
BTW, one K-Mart (but only one) was running a 'all Harry Potter, 50% off' sale.
After some discussion, they decided that it included the HP Lego sets. So, I
drank heartily from the fountain of the Blue Light Special :)

| (...) [ updating ... ] After visiting 45-50 stores since Christmas, I finally saw a couple of 4709 Hogwarts Castle yesterday. One each at two K-Marts. Still at the $89.99 price (not that I expected any difference). In both cases they were stuck up (...) (23 years ago, 10-Jan-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)
