Surprisingly, the RCX in the set I just got was marked "2.0" which means
that this bunch was a relatively recent restock - I'm guessing June or so,
just before the release of the 2.0 sets. (SAH had a stock-out period for a
bit before the new 2.0's came out.) This seems strange that they'd be a
big restock given that this chain (like a few others) seem to have been
marking prices down to clear product off the shelves.
This leads me to wonder if TLC - having just produced a bunch of RIS 1.5
sets as restocks found themselves stuck with outdated inventory after
releasing the RIS 2.0's.......which means that CompUSA may have picked up a
bunch of relatively recent production sets at a cheap price. These sets all
looked quite new, with some of the end flaps loose (not enough adhesive or
bad storage conditions), but no real shelf wear or abuse.

| Confirming a post earlier, Comp USA (White Plains NY in this case) has RIS 1.5 sets at $139. A bunch in stock. Dark Side Dev. Sets are still (relatively) overpriced at $75. Only a few around. The peons on hand were not clear, but this might be (...) (23 years ago, 8-Oct-01, to lugnet.market.shopping)
