While picking up a raincheck on tubs at my favorite TRU, I asked the manager
if he was ever going to sell the <set:6494> Mystic Mountain Time Lab.  He
has had them marked "clearance" at $50 for over a year.  He told me he
couldn't pay people to take them, to which I replied, it depends on how much
you pay them.  I ended up getting them for $25 each, so I picked up all 14
of them.  I am guessing that I can make back my $25, or at least I hope I
can, as it only has a couple of parts I want.

If you see some Time Losers at your local TRU, you might have similar luck.

Although a check on ebay yielded only one sold (for $100!) and none listed,
it seems from the bid history (on the one that sold) that $30-32 is the
going ebay price (after taking out the 2 extreme bids) if people are looking
to resell them, so unless you need some of the pieces, it probably isn't a
great investment.

If you part them out, you can probably do good. I've seen evidence of a
bunch of them parted out on eBay. The red arched windows always sell
well, and there are other parts which sell well (the trans-orange
octagonal wall parts will probably do well).

Our area is pretty well cleaned out of these since I picked a bunch up
at the $50 price.

(...) Mike, could you possibly let me know what mechanism they used to justify the price? A local TRU has 13 of those sets, and I'd love to get them at $25 or $30 each. Their manager said that only the Corporation (insert sinister beat music here) (...) (25 years ago, 25-Mar-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)
