On Saturday I discovered something new in K-Mart's BOGOs. They actually
start Saturday! Saturday morning I needed some milk for breakfast and
decided to go to the grocery outlet nearby. They didn't have gallons of
milk, so I decided to check out the K-Mart next door. Once I walk into a
store like K-Mart, I almost always check the toy section. Cool, BOGO
starting Sunday! I'll follow the trick Lindsay and others have pointed
out. Buy now, then go back once the sale is in progress and have them
adjust the receipt. As I checked out, I noticed the BOGO was applied. In
fact not only do they apply it, but their receipts are now very well
setup, with the BOGO for each pair, sorted by price and correctly paired
up, printed in bold. I really give kudo's to K-Mart for how they have
progressed from a pain in the behind BOGO where you had to have the
cashier ring you up several times, once for each price point, to this
very smooth and clear process. Since they didn't have everything I hoped
to get, I went to another K-Mart which was very well stocked with new
Harry Potter, though to get some Escape from Privet Drives, I had to
search around to make sure that a cart full of Harry Potter LEGO was
indeed abandoned .I'm wondering if someone saw the BOGO and dates, and
assumed it wasn't on yet, loaded up a cart, and parked it away from the
LEGO hoping their sets would still be there on Sunday, either
conveniently still in the cart, or having been reshelved late Saturday.
I don't steal from other's carts, but I'm also not going to deprive a
store of a sale just because some jerk abandoned their cart.
In any case, I got plenty of BOGO and didn't have to plan a trip back to
get the benefits of the sale. I'm now very glad I didn't feel like doing
my grocery shopping last week...
