three cans of soup, a block of cheese and legos

Went in to WalMart to get a few cans of soup and a block of cheese. I ended up spending a little north of $800 on clearance Lego. It all started when I turned the corner and watched the guy halve the aero tube hanger's clearance price. From there it (...) (23 years ago, 2-Feb-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Vision Command $29.99 @KB Toys online

FYI - at least their markdowns are sometimes worthwhile. This was online through what used to be eToys - any KB toys should work. Almost as cheap as the eToys markdowns. There's still the Windows 98 requirement but...... (23 years ago, 2-Feb-02, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.robotics)

New 3426 Adidas Team Transport found at WalMart

Hi, I found this set at my local WalMart. It is not in the Lugnet or Brickset database and I have never seen any mention of it before. It is an Adidas version of the Red Team Transport. I have put pictures of it on Brickshelf. Sorry they are not (...) (23 years ago, 2-Feb-02, to lugnet.sports, lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.promo)

Re: What's in your S@H Surpise Bag??

(...) I live in Blue Island, Illinois. A suburb south of Chicago. My catalog code is J2PS. I just went through 7 catalogs that i recently received with orders. The only insert in any of them was "A Parents Guide to Lego Toys" Anybody else live (...) (23 years ago, 1-Feb-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: What's in your S@H Surpise Bag??

(...) Hmmm... I wonder if catalog codes are geographically linked... My catalog code (Oakland, CA - not too far from Maggie) is also J111 and my 5 bags were the same as Kevin's. All exactly alike. Paul Sinasohn LUGNET #115 (23 years ago, 1-Feb-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: What's in your S@H Surpise Bag??

In lugnet.market.shopping, Maggie Cambron writes: (snip) (...) I got one, which came in a previous order, with the insert, and one mailed separately to me, without it. Based on several years' experience this is pretty typical. (23 years ago, 1-Feb-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: Cheap LEGO

(...) Uh, well, actually I'm in Northern California (I bet it was the "y'all" that had you fooled wasn't it? Not my hijacking a local thread!) But it seems the TM's are the same all over-- a let down. 'Course YTMMV (yes, could be Your Tuesday (...) (23 years ago, 1-Feb-02, to lugnet.org.us.texlug, lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: What's in your S@H Surpise Bag??

(...) Welcome, and here's my advice: don't take it personal if anyone bites (lucky for you I don't!). :-) (...) My guess is either they ran out of inserts or yours fell out of the catalog or the person places the inserts in the proper place to get (...) (23 years ago, 1-Feb-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: Cheap LEGO

(...) Agree on all points. The one TM I stopped at had put all the new Lego product on an endcap. The endcap was wrapped in big sheets of clear plastic. You could obviously see the contents, even most of the prices. Nothing noted there that has not (...) (23 years ago, 1-Feb-02, to lugnet.org.us.texlug, lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: What's in your S@H Surpise Bag??

(...) Hello all, This is my first post, so please be gentle. I have been following these Suprise Bag threads for awhile and I am wondering why my catalog does not appear to have this insert. I live in the U.S. My catalog code is: J2PS Any thoughts (...) (23 years ago, 1-Feb-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)
