I hadn't been to the local Zany Brainy store here in Madison for a couple of months now, so I walked in kinda hoping that there *wouldn't* be any great sales going on -- you don't WANT to know how much I've spent on LEGO lately -- but no such luck, (...) Steve Bliss, all around good guy, but resident of an inferior school district, opined on how swell Meijer is: <I snipped it> Meijer rules. And Fred Meijer is aces. He MADE Da Vinci's horse happen and those hoity toity coastals didn't even invite him (...) (25 years ago, 15-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.off-topic.debate)

I did an order (of the mindstorms technic goodies) today. I got overflow. This person would not admit they were overflow. I was on my cell and in a huge hurry so was a bit annoyed at the person for being clueless and slow and hard to work with (...) (25 years ago, 15-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) I'd love to know what it is about Meijer that makes this happen *there*. Not that I'm complaining--I mean, I pretty much lived in that store all through college--but why there and not TRU or Zany Brainy? I really really REALLY wish I wasn't (...) Our local computer mega store, Micro Center has a deal too good to pass up. Purchase $400 of merchandise; open an e-trade account with a minimum of $1,000 ; get a $400 credit in your e-trade account. I think this promotion is only open to new (...) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Chris and Paul posted copies of e-mail'ed S@H specials they got spammed with. I got both of these, I'll bet a lot of others did, too. I guess spam does taste good, sometimes. Steve (25 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) 96, (...) and (...) Didn't that one still say "Thrifty Acres" out front up until like last year? It's the oldest Meijer on earth, and yes, it is a *bad* one. heh heh. The Cascade one on 28th St blows it out of the water. And the new one at (...) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) Are you sure you're not thinking of the Cascade Meijer, at 28th Street and I-96, instead of the 28th & Kalamazoo Meijer? The K-zoo Meijer is an older store, and while it isn't a *bad* store, it's certainly not going to win any awards. Steve (25 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)
